It is our top priority to keep everyone safe, including the bees. From the genetics of gentle European honey bees to the placement of the hives, we prioritize safety for everyone involved. From visitors to landscape maintenance staff, it is our mission to give everyone a positive experience.
Yes! We have "killer bees" in Florida. Maintaining gentle European honey bee colonies in your community helps provide good mating opportunities for your feral bees and leads to gentler bees over time in your wild hives. It also provides competition for wild honey bee colonies and turns the beautiful display of flowering plants and trees into sweet delicious honey for all to enjoy.
Yes! We find that our communities keep the bees in mind when developing pest control management policies for their communities and golf courses. Each gold course maintenance staff has a member trained in pesticide safety and management to make sure the bees and honey are kept safe. Most of the chemicals in these instances are used on turf, which the bees do not visit for food. We have even had honey tested to confirm.
